Trolls appear to be missing a significant element that makes them a viable class in ProjectDF. Currently, Trolls get Berzerk at level 2 and that's the last skill they get. Berzerk is not a great skill. It's better than "hitting", maybe. But its single target, high fatigue use.
I did not play a Troll in DFC, but what made them special? Melee? Dual-wielding 2 handers? Whatever that was, I'd like to suggest that be implemented for current trolls.

Trolls in DFC had the highest hitpoints in game (tied with Wolves I believe) but could wear plate and hold 2handers in one hand and use a shield (there were also some 'two handed' shields that only trolls could use). They had Berserk and Melee (I think Trolls tended to use melee for leveling). It was very difficult / nearly impossible in Evil to 0 a troll (Good had an easier time because trolls had lightning vuln & plate armor was weak against lightning). They were supposed to wear Chain, similar to zombies, but were later given plate because the coding behind chainmail was so buggy (thrust weapons did insane dmg to someone wearing chainmail and it never provided the protection it was supposed to).
Trolls were all in all very difficult to kill and had enough punch to be menacing. They could berserk to 0 a large number of classes or just melee to chunk / finish off others who had been 0'd by someone else.
