Overall, gnolls seem to be in a very good spot. PvE is very strong at the moment, especially against physical mobs as pets destroy everything. And vs caster mobs, it's easy to avoid or volley them.
Learning how to use eagle sight chant has made things even better.
Current iteration of volley seems to do maybe a touch too much damage vs same level mobs, but is offset heavily by lack of accuracy.
1 v 1 in both pvp and pve, almost useless against something in same room as you without pet, easily doing 1/4 to 1/5 the damage as volley would do. Damage when I had double was marginally acceptable, but only having single attack now, it's useless. All of which is fine as long as volley stays strong, makes for a great strength/weakness.
I question some of the expertise and their requirements being beyond that which current stat caps will allow, but that can be addressed for all characters.
Implementation of walls/guard, and fixing of track and alarms, and Gnolls will be pretty much where they need to be.
