This game is quite a bit different than DFC in a lot of good ways. One bad thing that is happening is that several of the mechanics of the old game won't work the way that the new design is going.
Far too many races multiattack. Casters are all using direct staves which were originally reserved to a couple of classes. Paladins are using double direct weapons. Pets are being implemented and improved.
This breaks the zombie regen mechanic completely. This makes instakills way more common and makes battles less interesting. It makes a big disparity between levels in a battle.
If the game continues to focus on multiattacks then I think perhaps there needs to be some thought into lowering damage of everything drastically so that this instant kill thing is lessened. Alternatively perhaps the multiattack focus can be cut back on. I personally liked in DFC that you could often escape a zero. the lack of multiattacks made it so that you rarely got instantly killed by someone else. That's more fun than trying to nerf everything so that we can have more multiattacks. It's my opinion that multiattacks don't make for an interesting rvr mud game. If multiattack is reserved for certain classes then it makes pvp more interesting.
